March 23, 2001, Newsletter Issue #30: What makes a great party

Tip of the Week

Whether this party is for a child, or for a group of grown-ups, a good party needs these things:

ACTIVITIES--many successful parties for children will have a facepainter, some games, a clown to do a show and provide balloon animals. Some parties will include outside activities like pony rides, trampoline activities, swimming pool fun and other water yard activities. Teenage and adult parties could include a temporary tattoo artist, a mehndi designer, team games like a football game, baseball, table hockey.

Adult parties--have fun--invite a professional tattoo artist or piercer to your party, and provide permanent art for your guests. You get the idea, have something fun to do at your party.

FOOD AND BEVERAGES--You need to provide a good spread, and you need to have a selection of refreshing beverages. You don`t have to be a cook and make it all yourself. You can order trays from almost any grocery store, or run to your local deli and tell them what you are planning. You could have it catered. Just make sure you have more than chips and dip. Food can make or break a party.

If you have food and activities, your party will be a success.
