April 5, 2002, Newsletter Issue #59: Trying on a Temporary Tattoo?

Tip of the Week

One hundred percent natural henna is a plant-based dye that leaves a stain that is reddish brown to dark brown. If your henna claims to be a different color you should be asking a lot of questions about its ingredients. If the dyes in your henna can`t be verified as FDA safe, you should look for a different product. Certain ingredients in colored hennas can cause itchy rashes and allergic reactions with can often appear days after the henna is applied. Natural henna is cooling and soothing to the skin. If you are looking for a colored effect, you are better off trying FDA approved stage makeups and products that color, rather than stain, the skin.
